So interesting to hear how life "took away" your time and energy for writing and then ... decades later ... gave it back. I look forward to hearing how you seized the gift of three years to write!

Very cool to read this. I'm not quite half way through the first book of that very series you mentioned at the end.

The Death Wizard Chronicles. I have had them in my Kobo library unread for way too long.

That hit home for me, I had a similar pattern, I came up with Heart of A'dara when I was 19, unable to sleep I created the world and people, but it took until my mid 40's to finally write it down (while working and studying for a masters- all Terry Brooks' fault having read his blurb on book 1 of the Shannara chronicles 😅) I'm thankfully in the final edits now thanks to time off in lockdown to really hammer it out, but taken me forever to get here. Looking forward to reading your journey!

I'm so happy to hear that you are in final edits. That is awesome! Over the next couple of parts, I'm going to go into quite a bit of detail of how and why the dam broke and I was able to write all six books of The Death Wizard Chronicles in three years. And how all the years of imagining the series in my mind played a big role in actually writing it.

Sounds like a must read! And yes, I totally understand how living with it in your head for so long helps.

Looking forward to "the rest of the story," Jim. Life happens and dreams and aspirations can get lost in the rush but there is a serendipitous nature to the world that can set us right again.

Thanks, James. Yes, life is a roller coaster and it's best to enjoy the high points and not get too worked up over the low ones.

Thanks Jim. Have you been approached by agents? Those kind of sales would give any agent a powerful opening pitch.

Hi Richard. I haven't been approached, but I'm reaching the point where I'm not sure I want to be. I've been traditionally published in the past by a respected house but have done better self-publishing. It's not for everyone, I know, but the idea of getting an agent, waiting months, then maybe getting a publisher and waiting months or even years for the book to come out? Plus, I enjoy the control I have over the books in terms of making fixes, promotions, etc. Times have changed, that's for sure. Anyway, thanks for the comment!

I must say I'm surprised. Sales are sales, and you have built-in sales. Agents approach people with built-in sales.
